Site-Specific Fertilizer Based On P And K Nutritional Status In Mempawah District, West Kalimantan

Abstract


The recommendations of P and K fertilization for rice are still general in nature, not site-specific due to the lack of required land data information. Nutritional status of P and K  of paddy fields that provides information on low, medium, and high P and K nutrient status is very useful for determining recommended site-specific fertilizer in district area. This research is based on a field survey and soil analysis in the laboratory. Taking soil samples using a grid system, and in assessing P and K levels using 25% HCl extract. Soil samples are taken in a composite manner on all paddy fields that have a status for the day. Composite soil samples are determined from 10 - 15 individual samples (sub samples) with a sampling distance of each sub sample of 25-50 m in the field. Soil samples are taken in the overlay with a depth of 0-20 cm. Taking sub-samples is done by diagonal or zigzag method according to the conditions of paddy fields. The results of study of nutrient status of P and K and fertilizer recommendations in paddy fields for rice plants located in 9 sub districts in Mempawah Regency showed that nutrient status of P, on average, was in the status from moderate level to high level, meanwhile, the nutrient status of K was in the status from low level to high level.
