The journal was established in July 1995 by the Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, the University of Lampung and Indonesian Society of Soil Science (ISSS) Regional Commissariat of Lampung, INDONESIA. The journal has been accredited by the Indonesian Directorate General of Higher Education (DGHE) since 1998. After that the journal was accredited continously by the Indonesian DGHE, namely accredited B in 2001-2004, accredited C in 2004-2007, accredited B in 2007-2010, accredited B in 2010-2013, accredited B in 2013-2018, and accredited B (SINTA 2) in 2018-2023
